Glyn Ceiriog, formally known as Llansantffraid Glyn Ceiriog, translates as The Church of Saint Ffraid in the Ceiriog Valley.
We can break up Llansantffraid Glyn Ceiriog to, Llan (Church Of) sant (Saint) ffraid (Ffraid) Glyn (Valley) Ceiriog (Ceiriog).
The easiest way to say Glyn Ceiriog if you can’t pronounce it, is by breaking it down, start by saying Glin, then try Ceiriog by saying, Kay Ree Ogg, Say it slow and then speed it up until it sounds right.
Starting as you enter the village along the B4500, you will pass Pont Bell Caravan Site, with room for caravans, mobile homes and tents, this site is a quiet retreat for those who want a simple walking holiday in the valley, close to the village and quiet enough to get your head down at the end of the night, many walkers favour this spot.
As you enter the village over the bridge, you now enter the majority of the village’s population area, on the right you will find Ysgol Cynddelw, translated as Cynddlew’s School.

Passing both chapels and heading along the B4500 you leave Glyn Ceiriog with Coed-Y-Glyn Terrace to your right and you leave as you head up the rise passing Ddol Hir Caravan Site.
